PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: They are categorized as β-lactam antibiotics which are used in the treatment of bacterial infections. 

PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION: It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. It helps to kills susceptible bacteria by specifically inhibiting the transpeptidase that catalyzes the final step in cell wall biosynthesis, the cross-linking of peptidoglycan. It is a semi-synthetic derivative of the drug penicillin that kills bacteria by preventing them from forming the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is needed for them to survive.

USES: It can be used to treat certain types of infections that caused by bacteria. These include infections of the blood, brain, lungs, bones, joints, urinary tract, stomach and intestines. It can also be used to treat gum ulcers and other dental infections (abscesses), leg ulcers and pressure sores.

SIDE EFFECTS:
Common side effects are-

5. Allergic reactions
6. Headache
