MODE OF ADMINISTRATION: For IV / IV infusion Use Only
Product Description:
Piperacillin is a penicillin antibiotic combined with tazobactam to treat piperacillin-resistant, piperacillin/tazobactam susceptible, β-lactamase generating strains of several bacteria. Piperacillin and tazobactam combination is an antibiotic that belongs to the group of medicines known as penicillins and beta-lactamase inhibitors. It works by killing the bacteria and preventing their growth. However, this medicine will not work for colds, flu, or other virus infections.
Pharmacological Actions: By binding to specific penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) located inside the bacterial cell wall, Piperacillin inhibits the third and last stage of bacterial cell wall synthesis. Cell lysis is then mediated by bacterial cell wall autolytic enzymes such as autolysins; it is possible that Piperacillin interferes with an autolysin inhibitor.
USES: It can be used to treat many different bacterial infections such as ear, sinus, throat, lung, urinary tract, skin, teeth, joints, and bones.
Side Effects:
Common side effects are as-
1. Swelling
2. Redness
3. Pain at injection site
4. Trouble sleeping

7. Headache
8. Dizziness
