Product Description : Telmisartan is in a class of medications called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. It works by relaxing blood vessels so blood can flow more easily.

Pharmacological Actions :
Telmisartan interferes with the binding of angiotensin II to the angiotensin II AT1-receptor by binding reversibly and selectively to the receptors in vascular smooth muscle and the adrenal gland. As angiotensin II is a vasoconstrictor, which also stimulates the synthesis and release of aldosterone, blockage of its effects results in decreases in systemic vascular resistance.

Uses : Telmisartan is used in the treatment of Hypertension (high blood pressure), prevention of heart attack and stroke and Heart failure.

Common side effects are :

1. Upper respiratory tract Infection
2. Back pain
3. Diarrhea
4. Sinus pain and congestion
5. Skin ulcer
6. Dizziness
7. Stomach pain
8. Weakness
9. Muscle pain

How to Use ?
Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. It may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
